Woodland and the Green Deal
As we are all aware, we are embarking on difficult times financially and we all need to look at how we can make cut backs and savings.
The recent energy price rises for both gas and electricity are driving more and more people into fuel poverty (where more than 10% of income is spent on energy). There has therefore never been a better time to ensure that every avenue is being pursued to maximise energy efficiency.
Whether you are a landlord or a home owner we all need to make moves to cash in on the possible savings, which could be in excess of £1170 per year, whilst reducing carbon emissions.
At Woodland, we want to help our customers cash in on the new Green Deal agenda, whether it be through:
Woodland are MCS accredited and SAVA acredited to carry out your energy performance assessment and help to inform you of the best possible route.

More about the Government's Green Deal initiative:
The Green Deal is a major government initiative forming part of the Energy Security and Green Economy bill currently entering it’s 3rd reading. Green Deal is due to be launched in a little over a year’s time, following on from the CERT and CESP programmes and comes with significant energy conservation, generation and efficiency benefits for tenants, landlords and owner occupiers. The main aim is to reduce carbon emissions and improve the energy-efficiency of housing stock, in line with the targets set within the Climate Change Act (2008). Green Deal will be promoted as an opportunity, but the bill will include powers to prevent landlords letting properties with an EPC rating that falls into the F & G bands. This would affect approximately 600,000 privately let dwellings. In addition to the Green Deal opportunity are the renewable energy based schemes to consider, for example, FiT (Feed in Tariff) and the launch of domesticRHI (Renewable Heat Incentive).
For Landlords, HA’s and LA’s
The benefits for you and your organisation adopting an early approach for when Green Deal goes ‘live’ is that you can begin improving homes at the earliest opportunity, thus optimising the EPC level of the asset and therefore its lettability. This approach would also contribute towards a healthier environment and lower fuel bills for residents.
