Health & Safety

Woodland Property Services has placed the Health and Safety of its employees and customers at the forefront of everything we do. We continue to adapt and react to any legislative changes as they arise and have a key focus on the training and development of all our staff.  We undertake a disciplined and systematic approach in all areas of Health and Safety ensuring total compliance.

A health and safety policy document is signed by our Managing Director Matthew Fearn and David Norton, Operations Director, is the company's Health and Safety Champion.

  • Senior directors and management are tasked with the responsibility for health and safety across the company and specific meetings are held each month to review our performance against target and discuss the continuous improvement of our already exemplary record.
  • As a company annual targets are set in line with our zero acceptance of accidents in the work place. Our Goal since instigating the monthly review meeting in 1999 has been zero fatalities and Zero major incident. With pride we can say this has been successfully achieved resulting in Zero man hours lost across the company.
  • In 1999 we undertook a thorough review of our Health and safety policy and as a result we have an in-house team to constantly monitor our practices and process ensuring risk assessments are made for every task in the business with method statements available to all staff
  • Health and Safety covers a far wider arena than accidents at work and Woodlands takes great pride in its company sickness levels achieving best in class absence levels since 1999 (Current Absence rate of 0.90 days per employee)  and exceptionally low staff attrition levels with a number almost 50% of our staff having over 10 years service
  • Even further efforts have been made across the company in 2011 with programs of Awareness and competence training being delivered both through our in house training manager and external providers where necessary. All our operatives are now fully accredited in Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, SCS and COSH.
  • To date Woodlands Property Services has had over 1. 2 million man hours without a major or fatal incident
