Schools to Work
Woodland Property Services have partnered with Education Business Futures to help facilitate the development of long term relationships between local employers and schools with the aim of overcoming the growing ‘skills Shortage’ in the East Midlands.
Through EBF, employers can help create dynamic learning opportunities for young people, raising their aspirations and attainment level whilst ensuring they develop the skills essential for their chosen career.
Business involvement in schools can be a powerful catalyst to increased academic achievement. It can also enable young people to make better informed decisions at the key transition points in their education, and help them to develop the employability skills needed for the workplace.
Ways that Woodland get involved:
- Offering work experience placements for learners and / or teachers
- Hosting visits to our workplace for learners and / or teachers
- Going into schools to support learners with work related learning activities such as business projects and challenges.
- Participating in enterprise or interview skills days
- Talking about career paths and experiences of the world of work
- Mentoring a learner
- Designing a project / business challenge for learners to complete
- Influencing 14-19 education and qualifications such as Diplomas and Young Apprenticeships
